Educator. Mom. Advisor. PAUSD Alum.
Long-time Community Member
Born and raised in Palo Alto, I attended Ohlone Elementary School, JLS Middle School, and graduated from Gunn High School. My PAUSD experience inspired my career in public education.
I have a teaching credential, an M.A. in Education, an M.A. in Educational Leadership, and an Administrative Credential. For ten years, I taught high school English and English Language Development (ELD) at Lynbrook High School in San Jose and served as Department Chair of the ELD Department for seven of those ten years.
I come from a family of educators; my mom, Darlyn, taught preschool for 28 years at Friends Nursery School in Palo Alto, and my sister is a teacher at Monta Vista High School in Cupertino.
My two children attend Palo Verde Elementary School.

My work as a school consultant and a PAUSD substitute teacher have provided me with direct insight into the classroom experience. My knowledge and background in public education ensure that I will make decisions that meet the needs of our diverse families and students.
Why I'm Running
I am running for school board because I am concerned. PAUSD had an incredibly positive impact on me and inspired my career in public education. Lately, I've seen through my own children, my friends' children, my time in the classroom, and feedback from other parents and clients that PAUSD is not adequately addressing the achievable needs of all students. We can do better.
My Priorities will build upon PAUSD's focus on students' educational and emotional needs and were developed with the specialized lens of my having been in the classrooms and schools as a parent, substitute, volunteer, and consultant as well as my expertise as a public-school educator.
